New office solutions were needed to support company expansions and their teams spread out over multiple locations. This movement continued through the decade and has led to a decentralization and shrinkage of the conventional office environments and an expansion of the alternative office solutions. It also led to growth of the executive suite industry, today there are over approximately 4,000 executive suite centers in the United States. Ninety percent of the centers are owned and operated by smaller, independent companies.
